This article applies only to domain registration services for a domain that was registered through DiscountASP.NET and was transferred from one DiscountASP.NET hosting account to another DiscountASP.NET hosting account.
The domain name registration renewal is assessed and paid on the nearest billable month based on the new hosting service renewal schedule rather than the date of the domain name expiration.
For example, say hosting service was purchased on 8/18/2005 and the domain name for this new account was transferred from another DiscountASP.NET account. The domain name was originally registered through DiscountASP.NET and purchased earlier, say on 4/30/2005.
The actual domain expiration and renewal should be on 4/29/2006. However, based on the new hosting account billing cycle, the domain renewal fees will be assessed and paid on 04/18/2006, because the account was opened on the 18th.
