FTP Site Status
This control simply starts or stops FTP access to your site. When FTP access is stopped using this tool you will see a "550 No such host is known" error when attempting to log in via FTP.

FTP IP Restriction
This control allows you to enable (or deny) FTP access based on the IP address of the FTP connection. The available options are; ALLOWED ACCESS or DENIED ACCESS.

When ALLOWED ACCESS is selected, FTP connections will be accepted from any IP, unless the IP is listed in the "IP restriction" section. Use ALLOWED ACCESS if you want no restrictions on FTP access, or if you want to prevent connections from a small number of IP addresses.

When DENIED ACCESS is selected, FTP connections will be refused from any IP, unless the IP is listed in the "IP restriction" section. Use DENIED ACCESS if you want to restrict FTP access to a small number of IP addresses and block all other connection attempts.

When FTP access is blocked from a given IP using this tool anyone attempting to log in from the blocked IP will see a "530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible" error when attempting to log in via FTP.

Add IP Restriction Entry
This is where you enter the IP address you wish to block or allow. Addresses are added one at a time unless you wish to block a range of an IP subnet. The default subnet mask setting is appropriate for most uses. We recommend that you do not change the default subnet mask setting unless you are familiar with the way subnet masks work. Incorrect settings in the FTP IP RESTRICTION section can disable FTP access completely.

If you make entries to the FTP IP RESTRICTION section and subsequently experience difficulty connecting via FTP, choose ALLOWED ACCESS and click the "Update" button. This will remove any restrictions that you have applied and reopen FTP access to all IPs.

FTP Sessions
This tool displays all active FTP connections. Connections are listed by FTP username, IP address and session start time. Clicking the "disconnect" link will immediately terminate the selected session.
