Use this method if you want to purchase an SSL certificate from a third-party Certificate Authority (CA) of your choice — such as DigiCert, Sectigo, or Comodo. They will require an CSR. You generate a CSR here, submit it to your CA, then install the issued certificate when ready.
Part 1: Generate the CSR
1. Open the SSL Manager
Log in to your control panel and click SSL Management under Account Management. Then click Generate a CSR.
2. Fill in Certificate Details
Enter your domain as the Common Name. This must exactly match the domain you want to secure.

Generate CSR form — enter your domain as the Common Name
3. Click Generate CSR
The CSR text is displayed. Click Copy CSR to clipboard — make sure to copy the full block including the -----BEGIN----- and -----END----- lines.

Copy the full CSR text block
Important: The CSR is tied to a private key stored on your server. Do not regenerate the CSR before installing your certificate, as any certificate issued against the old CSR will have to be reissued.
4. Submit the CSR to your CA
Paste the CSR into your Certificate Authority's order form and complete their domain validation process.
Part 2: Install the Certificate
Once your CA issues the SSL certificate, return to the SSL Manager.
5. Paste the issued certificate
Scroll to the Install Certificate section. Paste the full certificate text — including -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- and -----END CERTIFICATE----- lines into the text area.
6. Click Install Certificate

Paste your issued certificate and click Install
Note: CSR-based certificates are not automatically renewed. Repeat this process before your cert expires. We recommend to start the renewal process at least 30 days early.
Removing a CSR
To discard a pending CSR and start over, go to the SSL Manager and select the option to remove the current CSR. You'll be prompted to type remove CSR to confirm.

Warning: If you already received a certificate from your CA against this CSR, removing it will make that certificate permanently unusable. Only remove if you have not yet installed the issued cert.
